President Droupadi Murmu on Friday said India should become self-reliant in the production of rare earth elements (REEs), given the current geopolitical situation. She emphasised that this is crucial for achieving the goal of a developed India and ensuring national security. She also encouraged geoscientists to develop indigenous technology to simplify the refining process of REEs.
