US city of Sturgeon has agreed to pay ₹2.5 crore in damages to a dog owner after a police officer fatally shot their deaf and blind pet in May 2024. The Shih Tzu had entered a neighbour's property. Police were called to help reunite the dog with its owner, however, tired of chasing the dog, an officer killed the canine.
