The Supreme Court has laid down pan-India guidelines on demolition of properties and stated that to carry out bulldozer action, the administration must issue a show cause notice 15 days in advance. The demolition has to be videographed, the court stated. It would be unconstitutional if houses of people are demolished because they are accused or even convicts, it added.
