Leaders at 17th BRICS Summit in Brazil condemned the "indiscriminate rising of tariffs and non-tariff measures", saying it "threatens to further reduce global trade, disrupt global supply chains, and introduce uncertainty into international economic and trade activities". Calling the tariffs inconsistent with WTO rules, they reiterated support for open, fair trading system with WTO at its core.
