Researchers have found that India could experience the largest long-term impacts of chikungunya, with 51 lakh people at risk annually. A study published in the British Medical Journal (BMJ) Global Health revealed that India accounts for 48% of the global impact on healthcare systems and individuals. Brazil and Indonesia might be the second and third most affected nations, study said.
