Apple introduced a new Foundation Models framework at WWDC 2025. This will allow any app to tap into Apple Intelligence's large language models, giving developers direct access. Senior VP Software Engineering Craig Federighi said that it will "ignite a whole new wave of intelligence experiences" in the apps and referenced the last such major update to iOS 7 in 2013.
