Meta will discontinue standalone desktop apps of Messenger for Windows and Mac, effective December 15. Following this, users will be automatically redirected to the Facebook website to access Messenger services. Users who have been using the Messenger desktop app will receive an in-app notification when the deprecation process begins, with two months to switch to web-based version of Messenger.
