The World Health Organization (WHO) has released its first-ever global guideline for infertility prevention, diagnosis and treatment. Noting that one out of six people are affected by infertility, the UN body said that in most countries, tests and treatments are "largely funded out-of-pocket - often resulting in catastrophic financial expenditures". The guideline includes 40 recommendations.
