Comet ATLAS (C/2025 K1), discovered on May 24, has dramatically fragmented into at least three bright pieces, according to spaceweather.com. Photographer Michael Jäger captured images showing the comet's break up and prepared an animation which depicts how the spectacle appeared between November 12 and 20. The comet has been travelling through the constellation Ursa Major since November 24.
