Karnataka Police constables will now wear a navy blue peak cap instead of the khaki slouch hat introduced in 1973. CM Siddaramaiah launched the cap at an event at Vidhana Soudha. Home Minister G Parameshwara said the slouch hat was a legacy of the British era. "During rains, it would become heavy and was not aesthetically appealing," he added.
