Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the state government will introduce several "important and historic" bills in the upcoming Assembly session, including ones targeting 'love jihad' and banning polygamy. Other proposed legislation will focus on preserving Satras (Vaishnavite monasteries) and granting land rights to tea tribe communities. All proposed drafts are currently under cabinet review.
