A new study found that unfair or pointless work tasks induce stress in employees, causing them to burn out and indulge in cyberloafing (browsing social media, shopping, etc to mentally disengage). The study, conducted among 235 Chinese employees, also suggested that employees who can adapt and recover quickly from stress are better at turning frustration into problem-solving.
