The first phase of the Bihar Assembly elections began on Thursday, with voting underway across 121 constituencies in districts including Patna, Muzaffarpur and Vaishali. Schools and colleges across the state are closed today. Government offices will also remain shut to allow public sector employees to cast their votes. The RBI has declared a bank holiday in Bihar for the day.
