Satyam Punem, a 40-year-old BJP worker, was reportedly strangled to death by Maoists in the Munjal Kanker village of Chhattisgarh's Bijapur district on Monday night. The Maoists suspected him of being a police informer, officials said. They dropped a handwritten note in red ink, which stated that the outfit had warned him in the past to stop helping the police.
