China has shut down the scenic areas facing its side of Mount Everest, also known as Mount Qomolangma, following a 7.1-magnitude earthquake that hit Tibet on Tuesday morning. The hotel buildings and surrounding areas in the scenic area have remained intact despite the quake, reports stated. At least 95 people are reported to have died due to the earthquake.
