India's primary IT industry body NASSCOM said US President Donald Trump's H-1B visa fee hike will "severely impact" Indian tech firms, while also raising concern about the one-day deadline for implementation. The September 21 deadline "creates considerable uncertainty for businesses, professionals...students", it said. The fee has been hiked from about $1,000 on average to $100,000- a 9,900% jump.
