Following complaints of traffic congestion, the Airport Road traffic division and Pune Municipal Corporation will start a drive to decongest routes leading to the airport. Police stated that they have asked the PMC to widen the Vishrantwadi-Airport stretch due to roadside nurseries encroaching on the carriageway. A PMC engineer said that a demolition drive is scheduled to remove encroachments.
