Kerala government has warned pharmacies against selling drugs to children under 12 without a prescription, following concerns over child deaths linked to cough syrups. Kerala Health Minister Veena George said, "We're requesting parents not to give medicines to children below the age of 12 without a prescription." George noted a committee has been constituted to study management of cough syrups.
