The government may allocate over ₹90,000-crore for MGNREGA in the FY27 Budget, while ₹86,000 crore was earmarked for FY26, Moneycontrol reported. Centre is, however, unlikely to allot additional funds for the scheme for the remaining fiscal, as an above-normal monsoon has kept demand for work under the scheme low since July. In FY25, ₹85,640 crore was spent on the scheme.
