Peru’s government said it would declare a state of emergency in Lima, as newly appointed President José Jerí refused to resign after violent Gen Z protests in the country. At least one protestor was killed and over 100 people were injured in the protests against corruption in Peru. Earlier, former President Dina Boluarte was removed from office after the protest.
