Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal said the existing credit rating framework assessing MSMEs on the same parameters as multi-billion-dollar companies is "ridiculous". "How can an MSME with a turnover of ₹100-200 crore be benchmarked against a company with a turnover of ₹50,000-1,00,000 crore?" he asked. "Whoever has come up with this framework is answerable," he added.
