Former West Bengal Education Minister Partha Chatterjee was granted bail by the Calcutta High court in the teachers' recruitment scam case on Friday. The court asked Chatterjee to surrender his passport and not to leave the trial court's jurisdiction while on bail. It also said that Chatterjee will not be appointed to any public office while his trial is on.
