Nepal has hiked the permit fee for climbing Mount Everest between March and May to $15,000 (nearly ₹13 lakh) and also introduced new measures aimed at controlling garbage pollution on the peak, officials said. Fee for the less popular September-November season and the rarely climbed December-February season has been increased to $7,500 (₹6.4 lakh) and $3,750 (₹3.2 lakh) respectively.
