Kerala High Court has ordered a vigilance probe into the weight reduction of gold-clad copper plates of Dwarapalaka (guardian deity) idols at Sabarimala temple. The court noted that, as per records the copper plates weighed 42.8 kilograms when they were last removed in 2019 for fresh gold-plating, but only 38.258 kg was produced before the firm engaged for the work.
