Only six of the 46 EV models sold in India are eligible for rewards under Centre's Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme, TOI reported. This indicates that only 13% of India's EV lineup satisfies localisation requirements, making 87% of them ineligible for subsidies due to their excessive reliance on imported parts. Automakers must attain minimum 50% domestic value addition under PLI scheme.
