Researchers have revealed that the music that people listen to in their teenage years leaves a lasting mark on them. The University of Jyväskylä-led study termed this a "reminiscence bump". For men, this peaks at age 16 with a preference for intense and rebellious genres, while women engage with a wider genre spectrum and peak at age 19, study found.
