The first Supermoon of 2025 lit up skies across the world on October 6-7. Known as the Harvest Moon, it is the full moon that rises closest to the autumn equinox. A Supermoon occurs when the Moon is at its closest point to Earth, making it appear larger and brighter. Two more Supermoons are expected in November and December.
