A study in the journal 'Neurology' found that infants receiving more skin-to-skin contact exhibited stronger development in brain regions associated with emotion and stress regulation. Studies have also shown that babies who experience skin-to-skin contact sleep and breathe more regularly, cry less often, and are more successful at breastfeeding.
