Ex-UP minister Gayatri Prajapati, lodged in Lucknow District Jail, was hospitalised after being attacked during a scuffle with another inmate, officials said. According to prison authorities, the altercation began during cleaning duty, when "the prisoner became enraged and struck him with the sliding part of a cupboard, causing injuries". Prajapati, however, alleged that it was targeted attack.
