A passenger was injured after an iron rod fell on an autorickshaw at Metro Line 5 in Thane's Bhiwandi site on Tuesday. MMRDA fined contractor Afcons ₹50 lakh and supervisor Systra ₹5 lakh. An inquiry has been launched. The injured was hospitalised and Afcons was told to cover medical costs. MMRDA cited serious lapses in site safety.
