The IMD has issued an orange alert for Himachal Pradesh on October 6, warning of hail, very heavy rain, thunderstorms, lightning, and winds of 40-50 kmph in isolated areas. The alert has been issued for Chamba, Kangra, Kullu, Mandi, Sirmaur, and Lahaul-Spiti. The state, which saw the monsoon withdraw by September-end, is expecting a fresh wet spell from October 5.
