Alex Simpson, who was born in the US without a brain, turned 20 on November 4, 2025. She was born with hydranencephaly, which is a rare condition that reportedly left her with just a pinky’s worth of brain matter at the base of her skull. Doctors told her parents that she likely wouldn't live past the age of four.
