Businesses, educational institutions, and public transport were shut down in Telangana on Saturday over protests against the High Court’s stay order on the 42% quota for Backward Classes in local body polls. Leaders of various political parties, including the Congress, BJP, and BRS, supported the protests and also held dharnas in front of bus depots, preventing vehicles from coming out.
