A woman from US who purchased a property in Italy's Sambuca di Sicilia, auctioned for $1 in 2019, has spent approximately ₹4 crore ($446,000) crore to renovate it. While the house was being auctioned for $1, the woman, Meredith Tabbone, ended up purchasing it for $6,200. Tabbone's grandparents hailed from the region before emigrating to US in 1902.
