Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Tuesday said to cut cement transportation cost, Railways has introduced a reform allowing bulk transport using specially designed tank containers. He added that earlier charges were listed in slabs, but now uniform rate of 90 paise per gross tonne kilometre (GTKM) has been set. "Cement cost plays major role in middle-class families," Vaishnaw said.
