Air India failed to file a preliminary report on deployment of the ram air turbine (RAT) at 10,000 feet on a Amritsar-Birmingham flight on Saturday, Republic reported citing DGCA sources. Action was reportedly initiated only after pilots' body approached aviation regulator. The RAT's deployment, which happens when plane loses its main electrical or hydraulic power, was reportedly 'uncommanded'.
