Women in Madhya Pradesh's Burhanpur are trading their hair in exchange for money or utensils, with the value of the hair surging amid the upcoming festive season to ₹3,000 per kg, News18 reported. A local buyer said that he sources an average of 250 grams to 0.5 kg of hair from the neighbourhoods, which he later sells in larger markets.
