Madras High Court on Tuesday criticised Tamil Nadu Police for being "drunk on power" after a 27-year-old temple guard allegedly died in police custody in Tamil Nadu's Sivaganga. "Such acts in a state like Tamil Nadu, which is educationally developed, are dangerous...This should never happen in any police station," the High Court stated. Guard was detained in a theft case.
