A farmer in Rajasthan's Nagaur district planted ₹500 notes in his field to protest the non-payment of his crop insurance claim. The farmer alleged that despite insuring his cotton crop, he received no compensation after it was destroyed. He said he repeatedly called the insurance company's toll-free number but no official visited his farm to assess the damage.
