The European Space Agency (ESA) shared a video offering a flyover of a 1,300 km-long Martian maze-like canyon, Shalbatana Vallis. The animation, based on data from ESA's Mars Express spacecraft, shows water-carved channels, erosion-resistant islands, a hilly terrain and a 100 km-wide impact crater. The video also shows outflow channels that likely formed during catastrophic flood events.
