On Children's Day, a 13-year-old girl from Palghar's Vasai, died after allegedly being punished by her schoolteacher for arriving late. The Class 6 student at Shri Hanumant Vidya Mandir, Sativali, Vasai East, was reportedly made to perform 100 sit-ups some with heavy schoolbags after reaching late on November 8. She later fell ill and her condition worsened after reaching home.
