Bengaluru Metro fares may be increased by 5% automatically every year, starting February 2026. The Fare Fixation Committee (FFC) recommended the same to the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) in December 2024. The corporation is bound to follow the recommendations, as per the Metro Railways (Operation and Maintenance) Act, 2002. BMRCL has reportedly been incurring heavy losses.
