Income Tax Department stated that the new Income-Tax Bill 2025, which was passed in Lok Sabha within three minutes on Monday, is based on the 'SIMPLE principles'. SIMPLE stands for Streamlined structure and language, Integrated and concise, Minimised litigation, Practical and transparent, Learn and adapt and Efficient tax reforms. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman used the acronym in February.
