Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary said there is presently no proposal on the merger or consolidation of state-owned banks before the government. He said this in a written reply in the Lok Sabha. Earlier, a report claimed that the government is working on a public-sector bank (PSB) consolidation blueprint that could reduce the number of state-owned lenders.
