The US Air Force's 53rd Weather Reconnaissance Squadron, famously known as the Hurricane Hunters flew into the eye of Hurricane Melissa to collect data for the National Hurricane Center (NHC). Footage captured from inside the eye of the hurricane offers a rare glimpse of the hurricane's stadium effect, showing towering walls of clouds encircling a calm centre.
