The police said 2020 Delhi riots were part of pan-India stir by pointing to incidents of unrest that broke out around same time in parts of UP, Assam, West Bengal, Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, and Bihar. The police stated the Delhi riots were a regime change operation and were planned to be executed around US President Donald Trump's India visit.
