Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has announced the introduction of the Jan Vishwas Bill 2.0 in her Union Budget 2025-26 speech. The new legislation seeks to decriminalise over 100 more provisions in existing laws. Sitharaman highlighted that the first Jan Vishwas Act, passed in 2023, had already decriminalised more than 180 legal provisions.
