short by Girish Kumar Anshul / on 10 Oct 2025,Friday
According to Indian Railways, gold is treated as part of regular luggage, not a special item. Passengers can carry gold within their class baggage limits- 70 kg for First AC, 50 kg for AC 2-Tier, 40 kg for AC 3-Tier, and 35 kg for General Class. Any gold carried must fit within these allowances to avoid penalties and additional fees.
