Antarctica's Ozone hole shrinks to 5th smallest on record

The Antarctica ozone hole reached an annual maximum of 8.83 million square miles on September 9, as per NASA and NOAA. Although still vast, it's the fifth smallest since 1992. Researchers credit the Montreal Protocol's ban on ozone-destroying chemicals for the steady recovery. They believe that the ozone layer could fully heal later this century if the trend continues.
