Not all breast cancer patients might respond equally well to chemotherapy, Oncologist Dr Mandeep Singh Malhotra of Delhi's CK Birla Hospital explained. Most breast cancers are hormone receptor-positive (HR+) and grow slowly, and might respond poorly to chemo, which targets fast‑dividing cells. Low oxygen levels, a weak immune system, and some genetic factors can also make the therapy less effective.
